Medical Device

Problem:  Create a medical device to aid in patient comfort during skin treatment

Actions:  

  • Communicated with the client and coworkers to create a list of needs and wants

  • Used Solidworks to create multiple designs

  • Used a 3D printing service to create and test multiple iterations for feasibility and gather user feedback

  • Constantly gathered and implemented user feedback into the next design

  • Worked with suppliers to quote material supplies

Results: Led a project for a medical device that could successfully hold vacuum, gather IR temperature data, and react accordingly with a closed-loop temperature control system.  This project also involved creating custom cast urethane flanges.  After multiple iterations, it was fully functional and has been successfully field tested.
